In the late-1920s, USS CONSTITUTION underwent an extensive restoration in Boston that was funded largely by donations from the general public. To thank the nation, “Old Ironsides” went on a three-coast national cruise between 1931-1934. The “Ironmen” were the crewmembers who were onboard CONSTITUTION for the entire national cruise.
