The Board of Overseers

The USS Constitution Museum is grateful to the members of the Board of Overseers who commit time, talent, and treasure to further the mission of the Museum.  Who are the Overseers?  They are a group composed of former Captains and Executive Officers of “Old Ironsides,” former and retired military personnel, lawyers, doctors, writers, researchers, stay-at-home parents, students, business men and women.  In other words, they are a diverse, dedicated group of individuals with a common interest – helping the USS Constitution Museum serve as the memory and voice of “Old Ironsides.”

What do the Overseers do?  To paraphrase the Bylaws of the Museum, the function of the Overseers is to advise and assist the Board of Trustees in the management of the corporate affairs and perform other duties that the Board of Trustees may determine from time to time.  The Overseers have the opportunity to share their unique interests and talent as their time permits.  They have the ability to work on specific projects, organize events, work with committees, act as consultants, greet visitors to the Museum, to name a few of the museum’s needs.  This is a wonderful opportunity to invest with a local organization and be part of something amazing.
