Collections are at the heart of the Museum's mission. The collections are the tangible link to CONSTITUTION's past and are integral to the Museum's mission of being the Ship's memory and educational voice. Through its primary source material, the Museum's able to make connections with visitors and teach about CONSTITUTION and the people associated with her. To help bring CONSTITUTION's history to life, Museum collections are used to illustrate the Museum's national educational curriculum and public talks, and replica objects are used for on-site and off-site object based educational programs.
The Museum is always looking for CONSTITUTION- related artifacts and documents to add to our collection. The USS Constitution Museum adds to its growing collections through gift, purchase and bequest. Anyone interested in donating an item related to USS CONSTITUTION should contact the Museum's Curatorial Department at Curator@ussconstitutionmuseum.org or (617) 426-1812 ext. 147.
