History of the Museum
The USS Constitution Museum invites adventurers of all ages to set sail on a voyage of discovery! Founded in 1972, the USS Constitution Museum is a private, not-for-profit organization, located in the Charlestown Navy Yard across the pier from her Old Ironsides. The Museum is dedicated to ensuring that the stories of Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world today, and those who shaped her history, are remembered and recognized as relevant to our own times.
